Happy Friday!!

What a nice and relaxing way to spend a weekend afternoon...

Last night I went to a really interesting seminar about the growth of the fashion industry in SF as well as the  merging of fashion and technology in the Bay area.

And had the chance to learn the motivation behind some really cool startups that are based right here including Polyvore, Sneakpeeq, Everlane and media company Sugar Inc.

The speaker of Polyvore spoke about their business model and the popularity and growth they have experienced.  He believes it can be attributed to the product, sales (you can purchase the items you make collages with), exceptional content, and the influence of the SF bay area-that has such a passion for start-up and online companies.

One of the main things I missed about NYC was the absence of the fashion/retail scene so I find it really exciting and interesting to learn about all these amazing e-commerce and online media platforms that are emerging with tremendous growth right here in SF!

Also, to celebrate it being Friday here are some happenings around San Francisco this weekend that sound like fun...

  • Score some awesome dresses and tops at the BCBG/Ella Moss sample sale at Fort Mason!
  • Have drinks, appetizers, and live music under the dome at the Palace of Fine Arts, you can buy tickets here
  • Get your art on at the SFMOMA 19th Annual Warehouse Sale!

xoxo
