Workout Wednesdays!

Summer Dress Ready Arms

With the official start of summer beginning tomorrow, it's time to get serious about getting your arms ready for sleeveless tops and sundresses.

I don't know the exact reason behind why this is, but in the Bay Area not only are a large portion of the women in amazing shape but they all have the best arms!  With that as a motivating factor, below are some of my favorite arm exercises to do!

Some easy to follow exercises to get you toned up for your all your arm baring outfits that will leave you looking sleek and fit (not scary bulging muscle lady).... unless that's what you're into!

*All you need to do the following exercises are 3-8lb dumbells and a chair!

Tricep dips...great workout and you can even do it at home on the back of chair

And lastly, a delicious healthy recipe to enjoy before or after your workout!

This week's recipe is from my best friend Liz.   She is a nutrition buff and in amazing shape herself so if this is what she's eating to look the way she does then I highly suggest you starting making this as well!

Recipe:
*Note it takes 4 hours to "sit" so make ahead and lasts for up to a week!
2 cups of almond milk
1/2 cup chia seeds
2 tbsp. agave nectar
Dash of vanilla extract

Method:
Mix almond milk, chia seeds, agave nectar, and vanilla.  Shake occasionally.  Then let "sit" for 4 hours and it will thicken up like a pudding but with a bunch of health benefits!

5 top benefits of chia seeds:

1. These little seeds when liquid is added expand and help you feel fuller longer
2. They're one of nature’s highest plant-based sources of complete protein and energy boosters!
3. The seeds also help curb your cravings for food by helping balance your vitamins and minerals
4. They contain age-defying antioxidants! Always good!
5. Each seed is coated with soluble fibers an essential that we all need more of and it also aids digestion.

Thanks Liz!!
